Lights… Camera… ACTION! The C.A.R. Professional Standards Committee asked for submissions from Associations across the state to create content for C.A.R.’s Code of Ethics training library, and California REALTOR® members heeded the call!

The Sacramento Association focused on Article 12 of the Code of Ethics which states that REALTORS shall be honest and truthful in their real estate practices®. Alex claims he can communicate with the spirit of a home and tries to leverage that to convince some home buyers that his listing is the right one for them. Need a Helping Hand During a Disciplinary Process? Meet Your Ethics Advocate

An Ethics Advocate (EA) is a FREE member resource available to anyone involved in a disciplinary proceeding—whether you’re the one filing a complaint or responding to one. These trained volunteers from our Professional Standards Committee are here to support you throughout the process.

Ethics Advocates can help you fill out forms clearly and efficiently, gather the right evidence, and even be there with you during the hearing if you’d like. While they’re not lawyers and can’t offer legal advice, they’re great at helping you stay organized and present your case effectively.

EAs don’t testify as witnesses during the hearing, you’ll still need to attend the hearing yourself—but having someone knowledgeable by your side can make a big difference. And don’t worry—working with an EA doesn’t stop you from hiring an attorney if you choose to do so.

In short, you don’t have to go through the process alone. CCAR’s trained Ethics Advocates are here to help every step of the way.
