C.A.R. LEGAL HOTLINE

The C.A.R. Legal Hotline is a free services for members seeking confidential legal advice about real estate issues. Members may use the hotline if they have questions about contract interpretation, arbitration, litigation, tax issues, commission disputes, disclosure requirements, fair housing issues, HOA laws, and more.

Attorneys are available Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM PST; Saturday, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Due to limited staffing on Saturdays, the hotline is restricted for only those questions relating to active transactions.

 

INSTRUCTIONS

Whether you submit questions online, by email, or fax, please keep your descriptions brief (2-3 short paragraphs; maximum 2,000 characters). The system will cut off messages longer than 2,000 characters. However, you may provide more detailed information when you speak directly with a C.A.R. attorney.

Note: When the hotline is flooded with inquiries you may experience a delayed response–from several hours, to days. Your patience is appreciated.

C.A.R. Ombudsmen are REALTOR® volunteers who volunteer their time to answer non-legal questions and assist in resolving non-legal disputes.

C.A.R.’s Ethics Infoline is helps members with all their questions from the tiny technical ones to the urgent “life-savers”. If you would benefit from speaking to a volunteer member who is trained to assist with non-legal Code of Ethics questions, just call or click and you will receive the help you need to fit the situation.
