IN MEMORIAM: William “Bill” Frank
Past West Contra Costa Association of REALTORS® President (1987), William “Bill” Frank, 76, died peacefully in Rancho Mirage on January 24 with his wife, Carol, and daughters at his side. A Celebration of Life will be held on March 2 at 2pm at Fern Cottage, Kennedy Grove Regional Park in El Sobrante.

CCAR Scholarships – Apply by Mar. 31
The CCAR Scholarship Foundation provides scholarship awards of up to $10,000 to qualified students residing in Contra Costa County. Their commitment to support higher education is the heart of the Foundation’s desire to make a difference!
Candidates may be either high school seniors, trade school, undergraduate or graduate students. All applicants must strictly comply with the application process and fully meet the Foundation’s requirements.
Completed applications must be submitted by March 31, 2024.

Tempering Mortgage Rates Propel
California Home Sales in January
California existing home sales rebounded in January to the highest level in six months as mortgage rates pulled back sharply at the end of 2023, according to C.A.R.’s January home sales and price report.
Existing, single-family home sales totaled 256,160 in January on a seasonally adjusted annualized rate, up 14.4 percent from 224,000 in December and up 5.9 percent from 241,920 in January 2023.
January’s statewide median home price was $788,940, down 3.8 percent from December and up 5.0 percent from $751,700 in January 2023.
Year-to-date statewide home sales were down 5.9 percent.
