Below are the latest voting results from Tuesday, November 5, 2024’s General Election.

The local county elections offices in California are still counting ballots from day of voting. The final counts are due to the Secretary of State by Tuesday, December 3, 2024 and the election results will be certified by Friday, December 13, 2024.

Contra Costa County
Voter Turnout – 62.41%

Ballots Cast – 451,172
Registered Voters – 722,861

State Measures and Candidates:

State ballot measures and elections are constantly being updated as Counties in California are still counting ballots. Therefore, nothing is final until the election is certified on December 13, 2024.  

Passed State Ballot Measures:

Prop 2:   Bonds for Public School and College Facilities
                Passed (58.1% to 41.9%)

Prop 3:   Constitutional Right to Marriage
                Passed (62.5% to 37.5%)

Prop 4:   Bonds for Water, Wildfire, and Climate Risks
                Passed (59.3% to 40.7%)

Prop 34: Restricts Spending of Prescription Revenues
                Passed (50.8% to 49.2%)

Prop 35: Provides Permanent Funding for Medi-Cal
                Passed (67.5% to 32.5%)

Prop 36: Increased Sentencing for Certain Drug and Theft Crimes
                Passed (69.0% to 31.0%)

Failed State Ballot Measures:

Prop 5:   Bonds for Affordable Housing and Infrastructure
                Failed (44.6% to 55.4%)

Prop 6:   Eliminates Forcing Inmates to Work
                Failed (46.6% to 53.4%)

Prop 32: Raises Minimum Wage
                Failed (49.1% to 50.9%)

Prop 33: Local Government Residential Rent Control
                Failed (39.4% to 60.6%)
